Role of District Inspector of Schools(Primary Education) Birbhum

To control & look after the establishment.
To Co-ordinate & control the works of the circle offices.
To Co – Ordinate with the office of the D.P.S.C., Birbhum.
Inspection of Schools from both Administrative & Academic sides
Supervision & monitoring of S.S.M. activities and CMDMP running in Primary Schools.
Enquiry of litigation, misconduct, misappropriation & other matters.
Inspection of Schools to look after Admission, Retention, quality achievement, N.T.B. distribution, facility of safe drinking water, Sanitation, School health program and other allied matters.

District Inspector of Schools(Primary Education) is the P.S.A.: Pension cases of the employees of the establishment, employees of DPSC, staff of circle offices, staff of the govt. PTTI, teachers of Primary Schools under control of DPSC.

The Head of this inspectorate maintains the Co- ordination with the office of the chairman, Birbhum DPSC

In Maintaining P.T.R. in Primary Schools.
Rationalization – Surplus adjustment of teachers
Posting of head teachers from panel
Appointing teachers.
In the conduct of TET
Working as D.D.O. of the BDPSC.
Looking after the management of the Primary Teachers Training Institutes.

The District Inspector of Schools (Primary Education), Birbhum handles the Court Cases of the office related & pension related matters.
He acts as the Head of DLIT for the Inspection of Private Schools and establishment of Primary Schools in the district.
He also looks after the Sanskrit Tols/ Chatuspatis.
