About us:
Social Sector, P.W.Dte., Govt. of West Bengal renamed from the Public Works (Construction Board) Dte. with all its existing office set up to look after the planning initiatives as well as monitor deposit works from the departments like School Education, Higher Education, Technical Education & Training, Mass Education Extension & Library, and Health & Family Welfare Department, Animal Resource Dept., Minority Affair & Madrasa Education Dept., Tourism Dept., Backward Class Dept., Youth Welfare Dept., Social Welfare Dept., Land & Land Reforms Dept. (integrated set up only), Home Dept. and Information & Cultural Affairs Dept. within the state.
The works for the above mentioned departments
functioning to plan, initiate, monitor different schemes of the State Government and to look after accounts & budgetary matters and inter-disciplinary co-ordination of projects wherever needed and the planning and design of the schemes taken up.
