Activities Performed

School Inspection: – Both academic and administrative inspection of upper primary, Secondary and Higher secondary schools. Supervision of Mid day Meal program, Inspection regarding up-gradation, introduction of new subject at H.S. level etc.

 Salary: – Preparation and disbursement of salary of 7934 nos. teaching and non teaching staff and 228 nos. of guest teacher, part time teachers. Salary related other works like deduction of Income tax and submit returns and issue form 16 to all above said teaching and non teaching staff. Provident fund sanction and payment to the teaching and non teaching staff.

Pension: – The District Inspector of Schools is the pension sanctioning authority of all teaching and non teaching staff of this district.

Examination: – Conduct various public examination like Madhyamik examination, Higher Secondary examination of West Bengal Board. M.P. and H.S. examination of Rabindra Mukto Vidyalaya, National Talent Search examination, National Means Cum Merit Scholarship exam, High Madrasah examination etc.

Incentive: – Conduct and supervision of various scholarship like NTS, NMMS. Incentive to BPL girls and SC, ST students.

Approval of Appointment: – This office is closely related with the school Service commission. This office supply the vacancy statement of teaching and non teaching staff and after recommendation of SSC issue the approval of the appointment of teaching and non teaching staff. Beside this different appointment on short term vacancy is also arranged from this office. Guest teacher appointment at new setup upper primary school is arranged from this end.

Text Book Distribution: – Distribution of text books for the students of high schools is arranged from this office.

School Management: – Placement of departmental nominee in Govt. Aided managing committee, placement of DDO in special cases and arrangement of placing administrator if required, is the function of this office.

Admission of students: – As per RTE act 2009 make arrangement of admission of all the students at nearby school is the function of this office.

Court case related work: – At present near about 100 court cases are pending on pension cases, higher scale, arrear payment, DH appointment etc.

Miscellaneous function:-
Organize various teachers training.
Make arrangement of general and mutual transfer of the teaching and non teaching staff.
Function related to RTI act 2005.
Processing of DH category appointment.
Organize various program like YPC, Inspire Award etc.

Citizen centric activities

Make arrangement of admission of all students at nearby school.
Teaching and non teaching staff related various work.

Developmental activities

Distribution of books among students.
Scholarship like NTS, NMMS, BPL girls and SC, ST students incentive.
Distribution different grants for library, laboratory and for other infrastructural development of schools.
